Daily Herald Article // Statistics (PDF) WA overcomes Westminster scare Posted on 02.01.08 at 11:14 PM The Wheaton Academy Warriors, playing back at home again on Friday night, overcame a very competitive Westminster Christian team 47-43. On a night where the Warriors didn't shoot the ball particularly well--or score for that matter, the game remained close up through its conclusion. Wheaton Academy led by just two points at the half, 20-18. WA never could successfully go on a run, with Westminster answering time and again with a three-pointer. The final three minutes of the game--with the Warrior Dome rocking, provided a stretch where WA started to get their fast break game going. 9 made free throws by Benjamin Euler (23 points) in the final two minutes secured the win for the Warriors of Wheaton Academy. The team will be back in action tomorrow night against a tough Benet Academy team at home with a start time of 6:00 PM. |
