Statistics (PDF) Warriors defeat Luther North Posted on 01.05.08 at 6:19 PM The Wheaton Academy Warriors earned a 7-point victory over PSL member school Luther North on Saturday afternoon at home. Wheaton Academy had some trouble getting back into the swing of things after taking a brief break over the Christmas holiday. Though WA maintained a slight lead over the visitors, they failed to score or run their offense with any sort of fluidity, in addition to getting out rebounding. WA held a 29-20 lead at the half. Luther North came within eight points at one point, but the Warriors responded on their way to their ninth win of the season, now standing at a record of 9-2. Benjamin Euler led the Warriors with a game-high 24 points along with 9 rebounds, while Paul Werkema had a solid game, scoring 15 points going 6-for-8 from the field. Dave Toellen also had a good night, netting 11 points alongside 5 assists. Wheaton Academy faces West Chicago in the first of three of their road games next week on Tuesday night at West Chicago at 7:30 PM. The Warriors will travel to Walther next Friday night, and then face Wheaton Warrenville South for a second time this season on Saturday night at the Wheaton Shootout (held at at Wheaton North, 6:15 PM).
