Wheaton Academy closed out the home portion of their season on Wednesday night against Illiana Christian in the second game of the PSL tournament. The Warriors defeated the Vikings earlier this season in regular season conference play 69-54.

WA scored with ease and jumped to an 8-0 early lead in the first quarter, but Illiana guards found their way to the basket and brought the game to within three points by the end of the quarter. Despite Wheaton Academy's positive energy on the court in the second quarter, the game was still close at the half, and it was clear that the Warriors would have to shut down the Vikings' offense in the second half in order to regain a lead.

They did just that. Wheaton Academy outscored Illiana 20-12 in the third quarter. The team continued to play well together on both ends of the court, and eventually pulled out the 75-65 victory. WA will play the final game in the tournament on Friday at Aurora Christian, opponent and time to be announced.

Senior Benjamin Euler scored a season-high 29 points on the night as well as scoring his 1000th career point as a varsity player. Tim Rusthoven added 18 points and 8 blocked shots in the win.
