Wheaton Academy faced Wheaton Warrenville South on Monday night in the IHSA double A regional quarterfinals hosted by Glenbard East High School. The Warriors got off to a hot start offensively, and battled evenly throughout the first quarter. A last second put back by the Tigers gave them a one point edge, 16-15 after one period.

The Warriors started to play better defensive in the second quarter, while still scoring. At the half, Wheaton South led 30-25. A very disciplined and athletic South team who has been playing extremely well recently ultimately would take the game, but Wheaton Academy played hard and fought well in the loss.

The loss ends the season for the Warriors under new coach Paul Ferguson. The team finished with a 12-14 overall record, while going 7-2 in the PSL and earning co-champion honors.

3 Point Shooting: All four Wheaton Academy shooters advanced to the next round in the three point shootout on Monday: Benjamin Euler, John Albaugh, Joel Malmquist, and Jason Roy. They will shoot Tuesday night at 6:45pm at Glenbard East.
