Saltfleet scares Wheaton Academy; Warriors win though
Wheaton Academy 65, Saltfleet (Canada) 61

Game #18• Saturday, January 20, 2006 • Away • Superman Classic • 1:00 PM

It's not often that the Canadian national anthem gets played before a Wheaton Academy basketball game. But, that happened Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Superman Classic tournament. Saltfleet High School gave the Warriors a scare from the start, taking an early lead. The Canadian team shot extremely well, played hard, and frustrated WA's offense throughout the contest.

The game was tied with a little over a minute left in the fourth quarter. WA got to the free throw line multiple times in the end, and hit their free throws to gain the 65-61 win.

Benjamin Euler led the team with 22 points, while Joel Malmquist scored 16 and John Albaugh 15. Additionally, Euler was named to the all-tournament team.

The Warriors' next game will take place at the United Center on Tuesday against the Aurora Christian Eagles at 2:30 PM. That game is significant because both teams are undefeated in the PSL, and this potentially is the game that will determine the league champions.
