Warrior-led game stolen from them at the end Game #16• Monday, January 15, 2006 • Away • Superman Classic • 6:30 PM Number 8 seeded Wheaton Academy faced a Number 1 seeded Paducah-Tilghman team on Monday night, though the difference between the teams were very little. Wheaton Academy ran their offense well in the first half, holding a lead at the half, and extending that lead to 13 at one point. But WA couldn't stop Tilghman's two big men, #35 and #44, as Paducah crept back into the game. The officiating, or perhaps the lack thereof was staggering.. As a result, John Albaugh, who had handled the ball under pressure well in the first half was forced to leave the game after having his knee injured. Unfortunately, the worst part of the Warriors' game tonight occured in the final period. Wheaton Academy had a 9 point lead going into the fourth quarter, but struggled offensively, scoring only 10 points.. A sequence of offensive rebound after offensive rebound for Paducah allowed the Tilghmen back into the game (7 total offensive rebounds in the quarter). A couple of missed shots and turnovers later, Paducah had a lead and was headed towards a win over Wheaton Academy, which they did. Because of the loss, the Warriors drop into the consolation bracket of the tournament, and will face Marion High School on Thursday night. Benjamin Euler had 20 points, Joel Malmquist had 13, Tim Rusthoven had 10, and scoring from there was evenly distributed.
