Well it wasn't pretty, but it was a win. The Warriors battled a slow paced game and ice skate rink-like conditions on the court Friday night at Luther South. The Braves' zone defense gave Wheaton Academy a little bit of trouble in the first half, as they struggled to shoot the ball well, but John Albaugh (13 points, 5 rebounds) led the attack by way of penetration and dishing to the open man.

WA began to pull away with a lead late in the third quarter, and finished out the game with a 17 point win. Joel Malmquist scored a team-high 16 points. The win keeps them in the lead of the Private School League (undefeated 5-0). The Warriors still have Chicago Christian, Luther North, and Illiana to play in the PSL before they can claim the league championship. WA improves to 10-10 on the season and will face Montini next week on Tuesday at home.
