Senior Warrior basketball guard Jason VanderVeen was named the male Wheaton Academy Athlete of the Year earlier tonight at the annual Evening of Honor. VanderVeen, who plays both basketball and soccer, has been a go-to player for Wheaton Academy basketball during the past four years. VanderVeen averaged 5.9 points per game this year to go along with a team-high 5.1 assists per game. He has started for WA for the previous three years.
Jason VanderVeen, who serves as a solid role model and leader to fellow classmates will attend Wheaton College next year where he will play soccer. His devotion and loyalty to Wheaton Academy athletics over the years made VanderVeen an easy candidate for the honor. Jason is the son of Ken and Becky, who live in Wheaton. |
