Wheaton Academy entered Friday night's game against tournament-host Massac County High School coming off of a seven point win over Hopkinsville of Kentucky on Monday night. The Warriors played well in front of the large enthusiastic crowd and had a twelve point lead going into the fourth quarter, but plagued by foul trouble, Massac County came back to tie it up. Wheaton Academy did have an opportunity to send the game into overtime, as Axel Cerny missed a 15-footer with less than five seconds left.

Mark Aloisio led WA with a team-high 16 points, and 8 rebounds. Axel Cerny had 11 points, John Tillery had 10, and Jason VanderVeen and Matt Almaraz added 5 and 4 points respectively. As a team, Wheaton Academy shot 60% from the free throw line (6-10). The Warriors missed junior sharp-shooter Jeremy Parker's presence, who was serving a suspension from last Saturday's Walther Lutheran game. WA shot 7-for-20 from three point range. Wheaton Academy moves to an overall record of 4-14, and will face Caruthersville from Missouri tomorrow (Saturday) night at 6:30 PM before returning home on Sunday.
