WA gets 70-63 Win in Metropolis
Warriors defeat Hopkinsville in first game of tournament Monday night

After traveling Monday morning down to southern Illinois, the varsity team played their first game that same night at 6:30. Jason VanderVeen had a season-high 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists to give WA their fourth win of the season. Mark Aloisio scored 19 points and had 5 rebounds, and Matt Almaraz added 16 points. The Warriors defeated Hopkinsville last year in the first game of the tournament as well.

Wheaton Academy shot 7-for-14 from three point range (50%), and 16-for-31 from the 2pt range (51.6%). They outrebounded Hopkinsville, and had more assists than they did.
