Posted February 08, 2005 at 10:25 PM Wheaton Academy faced Lisle Tuesday night at home in front of enthusiastic crowds for both WA and Lisle. The Warriors started out strong as Axel Cerny and Jeremy Parker both knocked down two three-pointers in the first quarter. Guard Jeff Robinson for Lisle, who finished with 32 points, scored 11 of his 24 first half point in this quarter, though WA led 16-15. In the second quarter, Lisle outscored Wheaton Academy 25-11. Center Trey Triplett, who combined with Robinson for 57 points, scored 13 points in the second. Wheaton Academy found themselves down 13 at the half. Wheaton Academy's defensive woes continued in the third quarter, providing Lisle with easy offensive boards and lay-ups. Mark Aloisio (19 points) started to let loose, scoring 7 third-quarter points. In the fourth, the Warriors got as close as 11 points with 2:30 to go, but a three-point play on the other end, followed by a turnover and layup by Lisle, secured the win for the Lions, and the loss for WA. Wheaton Academy looked to Mark Aloisio in the post who scored 10 points in the final period, and led the team with 19 points for the game. Jeremy Parker scored 18 points, connecting on four three-pointers, and Axel Cerny got into the action with 13 points. WA played hard, and well at times, but shots were not falling, as they fell to a talented Lisle squad led by two talented players. . |
