Posted January 29, 2005 at 12:08 AM As the ball was stolen by Luther South with five seconds remaining, then taken down to the other end for the game-winning layup, Wheaton Academy knew it was more than that play that had lost the game for them. The Warriors got off to a great start, scoring 18 first quarter points, and leading 30-27 at the half. is fourth three pointer of the game to tie it up. On the Braves' trip down the court, they threw the ball away, and WA had possession with 44.1 seconds to hold for a final shot. After a timeout at the 15 second mark, the ball was stolen with just seconds remaining and taken down the court for the lay in. The clock showed 0.8 seconds before the timeout could be called, and WA didn't convert with that amount of time left. forward Matt Almaraz sat the game out on the bench due to extreme illness. The loss comes as the 16th for the Warriors, and they fall to 5-16 on the season. |
