Wheaton Academy paralyzed the Westminster Christian Warriors Friday night with their defensive pressure which led to easy baskets on the offensive end. WA earned a 36-15 halftime lead.
Matt Almaraz led the team with 14 points, Axel Cerny scored 13, and John Tillery added 12 points. Nate Williams had a breakout game, scoring at one point in time 5 straight points, and adding valuable rebounds and blocks. He finished with 9 points.
Wheaton Academy played everyone, and Matt Thomas, Chris Ferguson, and Caleb Stewart saw a lot of playing time tonight. Stewart hit two three's, one in each half, and totalled 6 points.
Wheaton Academy got the win in front of a home crowd, their first home game of the season, and come away victorious in this PSL matchup. Wheaton Academy improves to 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Private School League.
