The Warriors suited up against the Broncos of Walther Lutheran Saturday night at the Warrior Dome. Walther came into the game as co-leader of the PSL alongside Timothy Christian. Wheaton Academy played well - limiting turnovers, making smarter passes, and making good use of Mark Aloisio in the

post. Walther responded not only with their physical style of play, but connecting six three-pointers total for the game, as well as a considerable amount of 6-8 foot jump shots.
Wheaton Academy never obtained a lead in this game. Down 36-29 at halftime, WA failed to cut down on that lead and headed into the final period of play down 54-43. At roughly the three minute mark, Wheaton Academy went on a run fueled by Jeremy Parker who contributed a three-pointer followed by two drives and two layups.
WA cut Walther's lead down to 60-57 with under two minutes left. With less than 1:30 to go, the official called a techical foul on Jason VanderVeen which bewildered the crowd, and gave Walther two more points. Following this play, on the inbounds, another technical was charged to Jeremy Parker, again for unclear reasons. After this unusual series of events had taken place, Wheaton then had no opportunity to come back, falling 70-59 in the PSL conference game.
Mark Aloisio was a presence in the post tonight, as he tallied 23 points, and shot 9-for-12 from the free throw line. Jeremy Parker scored 12 points, and was the key player to turn things around for WA in the final minutes. Wheaton Academy falls to 3-13 on the season, and 1-4 in the PSL. They travel Monday morning to southern Illinois to play next week in the Superman Classic Tournament in Metropolis, Ilinois. Their first game is Monday vs. Hopkinsville from Kentucky at 6:30 PM.
